Position Summary:

The Asia Pacific Sales Manager is responsible for managing the tactical activities that are required to meet the region’s current goals as well as identifying opportunities and developing strategic plans to allow for future growth. Position requirements for this role include meeting sales short term sales goals and developing a pipeline to allow for future revenue targets to be met. Initially, the APAC Sales Manager will assist with basic service and support activities until the territory volume merits a full-time service person. Direct sales calls and territory development will be accomplished by working with established distributors and adding new distributors. The APAC Sales Manager will provide basic training of distributors and first line support. Working with corporate marketing and sales management, the Sales Manager will provide intelligence resulting in forecasting and identifying commercial opportunities as well as competitive activities. The individual will work with and track all activities in Proveris’s CRM system (SF.com), assist in generating quotes, perform contract and order reviews (as needed), and provide regular sales pipeline activity updates to the Commercial team. In addition, this requires experience working with multiple levels inside customer organizations. This includes C level executives, middle management as well as bench chemists. Expertise in understanding what is required to sell new and established products will be required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sell Proveris’ instrumentation and laboratory services, service products, and related accessories.
  • Work with and train Proveris distributors, agents, and sales consultants
  • Contribute to the development of sales forecasts.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals and bookings forecast.
  • Identify and increase business from new and existing customers.
  • Perform contract and order reviews, as needed.
  • Monitor competitors’ performance, industry trends, and market needs, and report to management and

    the Commercial team.

  • Coordinate and perform, as needed, product demonstrations.
  • Maintain contacts and records, and track activities, in Proveris’s CRM system.
  • Assist with and participate in industry conference activities.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company’s quality management

    system.

Competencies:

  • Working knowledge of internationally recognized quality management systems (i.e., ISO9001, or GMP) is

    preferable.

  • Excellent time/task management, communications, and technical writing skills.
  • Working knowledge of analytical systems used in pharmaceutical drug product testing.
  • Proven ability in productive customer relations, project management, and sales negotiations.
  • Proven ability to develop budgets to meet sales goals.
  • Proven expertise using MS Office and salesforce.com or other CRM software packages.
  • “Hands on” personality with a proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years selling capital equipment and laboratory services.
  • Proven performance selling technically oriented products and laboratory services to

    pharmaceutical/biotechnology customers.

  • Experience working independently, and remotely from company headquarters.
  • Experience working and travelling throughout the Asia-Pacific Region.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science-oriented discipline.
  • Willingness and enjoyment of international travel.

Travel Requirements:

Travel to customer facilities, industry conferences, and other business locations. Valid driver’s license needed. International travel will average 30-50%, varying in response to shifting business needs. Must have passport and be able to obtain visas for travel within the Asia Pacific Region, and to the US.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty pounds.

Work Environment:
Moderate noise level associated with open office work environment and site conditions.

  • Fluency in English required, Mandarin a plus.
