Product Manager

Position Summary:

The Product Manager has responsibility for business performance of selected Proveris product lines orally inhaled and nasal drug products (OINDP) and related markets, and is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle.  This includes gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, supporting the definition of the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, business development, marketing and support to ensure our solutions are aligned with market requirements. The Product Manager directs the marketing of specific products by identifying marketplace practices and trends, new product opportunities, potential customers, sales coverage, market size, competitors, penetration and customer workflow and preferences.  The Product Manager’s responsibilities include ensuring that the products support the company’s overall strategy and goals.  The Product Manager should possess a strong technical background, with the ability to understand and discuss technical product requirements and features with a technical audience, and have the ability to communicate technical concepts cross-functionally to ensure successful product launches.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Define new Products & Applications for OINDP and related markets.
  • Drive discussions with external customers globally to understand their current challenges, and obtain feedback on new and existing products.
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities for current and future products and applications.
  • Synthesize market research, customer input, and competitive analysis to into product roadmap and product requirements documents complete with user and buyer personas and needs.
  • Manage key aspects of product commercialization.
  • Work with Project management on all internal efforts required for product commercialization, including work with R&D, Quality, Operations, Service, Finance and related roles.
  • Organize and drive activities cross functionally related to global product launch, including pricing, positioning, sales tools, competition assessment and training to ensure a successful product launch.
  • Work with Field Applications and Sales team to evaluate tools post launch, and drive revisions or additional activities to fill any remaining needs.
  • Drive product life cycle strategy for growth of selected Proveris products.
  • Maximize growth of current products within OINDP by defining and prioritizing product features and requirements needed to expand the product utility and attractiveness.
  • Identify and expand products into related markets and applications.
  • Plan for senescence and obsolescence of established products.
  • Create strategic marketing plans for short and long term planning.
  • Conduct and analyze research to define segmentation, differentiation, positioning, and pricing.
  • Develop the core messaging for products based on market insight.
  • Oversee production of effective collateral to support sales activities.
  • Execute comprehensive and on-time product launches.
  • Develop and implement promotional campaigns to generate and qualify leads.
  • Provide competitive intelligence to help best position Proveris products.
  • Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and new product releases.
  • Support sales, channel, and marketing teams as a product expert.
  • Represent the Company at trade conferences, scientific symposia, and other functions where our products and services are featured.
  • Visit domestic and international customers and prospects, as needed.

Competencies:

  • Demonstrated success defining and commercializing new products.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with a high degree of independence.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in pharmaceutical development and related disciplines sufficient to understand and predict market needs.
  • Ability to present information effectively, advocate positions and respond to inquiries and complaints both internally and from the scientific community.
  • Strong and persuasive technical writing skills for marketing and other documents.
  • Excellent time/task management, interpersonal relationships, oral, and written communications skills.
  • “Hands-on” personality with a proven ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Product Manager or Technical Product Manager.
  • 10 years of commercial experience the life sciences or related market.
  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or related fields.
  • Must be able to travel up to 30% of the time.

Quality Manager

Position Summary:

The Quality Manager is a pivotal role in the company’s quality and ISO initiatives.  Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this individual will work closely with internal personnel in operations, engineering, regulatory compliance, and field service, while working externally with customers and suppliers as needed.  Specifically, this individual will be responsible for becoming Proveris’s ISO 9001:2015 certified quality management system’s champion, conducting quality audits, updating documentation as needed to 2015 standards, and assuring up-to-date employee training on relevant quality procedures.  In addition, this individual will be responsible for the company’s regulatory compliance, driving ECO and CAPA processes, incoming inspection, as well as working with manufacturing and engineering personnel in a quality oriented capacity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • ISO – serve as ISO Champion (i.e, responsible for conducting internal audits, SOP maintenance, personnel training on relevant quality procedures, and change implementation).
  • Responsible for initiating CAPA and managing quarterly CAPA effectiveness reviews.
  • Regulatory Compliance – assume project management role for regulatory requirement projects, and identify and monitor regulatory requirements (e.g. RoHS, WEEE, etc).
  • Provide data analysis and techniques to improve process efficiency within the company’s operations.
  • Interact with quality suppliers to specify component requirements and provide any root cause corrective actions from suppliers.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining incoming/outgoing product and process inspection/testing procedures.
  • Incoming Inspection – perform incoming inspection as required, create and review incoming inspection procedures, manage the review approval process, and work with manufacturing to ensure incoming inspection procedures are effective and efficient.
  • Manufacturing – manage and monitor calibration processes and ensure all equipment is calibrated as required. Create and drive subassembly, system and final release testing protocols.
  • Determine quality improvement parameters by identifying statistical methods relevant to manufacturing processes.
  • Review and approve in-process and outgoing test methodologies for Proveris instruments.
  • Product Management – Tract, review, prioritize and drive product improvements on existing products with Product Management.
  • Work with Purchasing to manage supplier quality metrics and to resolve supplier quality issues with root cause corrective action plans.
  • Engineering – participate in weekly meetings, create required ECO’s, and provide quality planning for current and future products.
  • Service – Create, review and manage the quality processes related to the company’s servicing activities.
  • Management – Create and drive quarterly product quality review on incoming inspection, manufacturing, and service metrics, ECOs and key issue resolution.
Competencies:
  • 5-8+ years of hands-on quality engineering environment including software and instruments, in an internationally recognized quality management system (i.e. ISO9001, or cGxP) environment.
  • Proven experience working with low-volume/high-complexity instrumentation intended for use in regulated environments (e.g. cGMP for pharmaceutical products).
  • Some level of ASQ certification, is desirable.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and Mindjet MindManager.
  • Strong hands-on hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent time/task management, interpersonal, communications, and writing skills.
  • “Hands on” personality with a proven ability to work effectively in a focused, team oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail is a must.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years working as a Quality Manager or related function.
